Overview

Cauda Equina Syndrome is a serious spine condition caused by the compression of a collection of nerve roots in the lower portion of the spinal canal. In this condition, the nerve roots that control the function and movement of the bladder and bowel are at high risk. It’s a surgical emergency and must be treated within 48 hours of the onset of symptoms if developed suddenly. If patients with severe Cauda Equina Syndrome do not seek immediate treatment, it may lead to loss of movement, permanent paralysis, loss of sexual sensation, impaired bladder or bowel control, etc.

We use the following tests to assess CES:

    • X-ray Scans
